1. Overview

Easy Upsell ("we", "our", or "us") is a Shopify application that helps merchants display post add-to-cart upsell offers. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you install and use Easy Upsell, how we use that data, and your rights regarding that data.

By installing Easy Upsell from the Shopify App Store, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the Easy Upsell service. This includes:

  • Store information: Your Shopify store URL, shop name, and currency settings, required to configure the app for your store.
  • Product and catalog data: Product IDs, titles, images, and prices accessed via the Shopify Admin API, used to build and display upsell offers.
  • Order and cart data: Cart contents accessed through Shopify's Storefront API at the time a upsell offer is shown. We do not store full order histories.
  • App configuration data: Settings and offer rules you create inside the app dashboard.
  • Basic usage analytics: Aggregated, non-personal data such as offer impression counts and acceptance rates, used to improve the app.

We do not collect, store, or process end-customer payment information. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Shopify.

3. How We Use Your Data

Data collected is used solely to:

  • Render and deliver upsell offers to your storefront visitors.
  • Provide the app dashboard and configuration interface.
  • Diagnose technical issues and provide customer support.
  • Improve app performance and reliability over time.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data or your customers' data to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Shopify APIs

Easy Upsell uses Shopify's official APIs (Admin API and Storefront API) to access the data listed above. Our use of Shopify APIs complies with Shopify's API Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Access tokens are stored securely and never shared.

5. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard protections, including:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all data exchanged between our servers, Shopify, and your browser.
  • Encryption at rest for sensitive credentials and access tokens.
  • Access controls that restrict data access to authorized personnel only.

While we implement reasonable security measures, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong password for your Shopify account and to notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access.

6. Data Retention

We retain your store data and app configuration for as long as Easy Upsell is installed in your store. Aggregated analytics may be retained for up to 12 months to identify usage trends.

7. Uninstalling the App

When you uninstall Easy Upsell from your Shopify store, we immediately revoke our API access tokens. All store-specific data (configurations, offer rules, and associated records) will be deleted from our systems within 30 days of uninstallation.

8. Third-Party Services

Easy Upsell may use the following categories of third-party infrastructure providers:

  • Cloud hosting: To run application servers and store data securely.
  • Error monitoring: To detect and diagnose technical issues.

These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We do not authorize them to use your data for their own purposes.

9. Your Rights

As a merchant using Easy Upsell, you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the data we hold about your store.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Easy Upsell after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
